Catering Sales Manager in McAllen, Texas For Sale

This position requires the management of sales related functions, including communicating with inside staff on a daily basis, creating effective new business techniques and maintaining customer service with current clients. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate all catered functions. May work directly with the customer in setting up and following through on all details of the event. Assist General Manager and Chef in planning menus, and sometimes aid in the creation of specialty menus and theme functions. Manage Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and contracts. Arrange for the rental of tables, linens, china, and other equipment, as needed. Adhere to the regulations of the alcohol beverage authority. Manage past, tentative and upcoming events administration. Demonstrate an exceptional eye for detail and ability to provide WOW concepts and flavor throughout each event. Disseminate information to all concerned department heads and staff members and distribute detailed function sheets at weekly meetings. Coach, mentor and motivate team members, including diligent constructive coaching where needed to maintain the expected standards. Build strong relationships and deliver outstanding service, hospitality and ultimately creating Raving Fans. Demonstrate a can-do attitude, Show initiative by being pro-active, and finding solutions to problems as they arise. Prepare contracts to include all specified details concerning catered events. Supervise event execution as required and delegate responsibilities to event staff. Act as a Liaison: between client, Centerplate Operations, Culinary and Accounting Managers and staff as well as Center Event Managers and provide assistance whenever possible. Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as needed. QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: Required: Four years extensive management experience in catering/banquet field. Large event catering/hotel experience preferred. Must be able to work long hours, early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary. Must possess a general knowledge of food and beverage procedures, control, and administration as well as a complete awareness and ability to perform all catering positions. Nice, friendly, multi-task abilities, positive person. The ability to build solid relationships with clients is key. Proven computer skills- must be proficient at PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel and Word. Must be bilingual - English/Spanish Preferred: Bachelors degree. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Requires occasional lifting of up 25 pounds in weight (boxes). Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to exert well-placed mobility to maneuver quickly among different areas of the facility.
